Keep your sword inside the cave

The other day I heard a Chinese proverb that says a man who lives in the cave keeps his sword inside the cave. When something bad happens outside, he goes back into the cave to find his sword and then leaves again. In this way round he has time to think whether he really must use the sword or if he can avoid a combat.

This simple story tells a lot about challenges, competition, differences and emotions. The point is that maybe we need to learn when is the right time to use it.
